League Match #14
Another action-packed game against the hardest team we have faced this year and justifiably 2nd in the league.
We made some adjustments to our starting line up as injuries begin to kick in as the season progresses.
The opposition pressed us high and took an early lead from a free kick. We regrouped and got our equaliser through Rehan’s persistence and closing down of a mix up between the opposition defenders.
Late in the half, we managed to win a penalty when Rehan was barged going up for a header. Subhan slotted the pen and put us in the lead.
With minutes to go in the half, Tooting was awarded a dubious penalty, but despite a well-hit penalty to the top left corner, Haseeb made a superb one-handed save.
Despite this reprieve, there was still time for an equaliser when a deflected long ball fell into the opposition strikers path to calmly slot home.
The second half was more to our pace and we dominated possession much more with Biloo influencing more. There were few clear cut chances created as both sides fitness cancelled each other out. We finished 2-2 and a point preserves our position at the top of the league.
