League Match #15

A disappointing loss to the current champions Old Ruts.

We started the game with incisiveness and precision, and a fine crossfield ball from Mitz led to ibby winning a penalty converted by Subhan. We had further chances to increase the lead but couldn’t manage another.

There was then a big turning point when Biloo made an excellent recovery challenge in the box.

Only for the ref to award a penalty against us. We went in 1-1 at half time.

We regrouped in the second half but with little penetration. The opposition went 2-1 from a set piece and back post header.

We pushed back and equalised when Akaash took a speculative cross-shot from the left that looped in. 2-2 it seemed it would be honours even, but with 5 mins to go Old ruts scored the winner, after cutting out a cross-field pass the move saw a cross from the left that was put in by their striker at the back right of the six-yard box.

A hard loss to take and see Old Ruts overtake us by 2 points, but with 11 games to go, all is still to play for.
