Round #1

Lining up against a team four leagues above us, we knew it would be a tough match. But the Reserves started strongly showing the opposition that we could not be taken lightly. Old Ruts scored a little against the run of play, but we fired straight back with a bit off quality from Junaid show slipped a disguised through ball to Mesh who finished very nicely.

Unfortunately we couldn’t see out the half, conceding from a penalty given for a handball from a corner with the last kick of the half.

Going in to the second half we lacked some intensity for the first 15 mins and the opposition punished us with a goal. We then started to play again but couldn’t sustain the pressure or finish from a couple of good chances. We then conceded again late on.

Lots of positives against a strong team, with the back four, in particular, putting in a very strong performance.
