League Match #13

A difficult game to describe with so many incidents.

We started the game in our usual possession style, but we received a red card after 12 mins when Biloo won a tackle but with his foot high in the follow through, the ref deemed it a straight red.

Undeterred we continued to play and Sajeel slipped ibby in down the right to make it 1-0. Goldfingers, however, drew level from our corner, one header and a long ball over the top led to a good strike from 25 yards to make it 1-1. Soon after we lost Zar to an ankle injury, with Haseeb coming on to deputise.

With half time approaching, Mitz produced some fine footwork to beat two players and with an outside of the foot pass into Ibby to register his second of the game and take us 2-1 up.

In the 2nd half, we shifted to 3-5-1 and Subhan moving up top to give us a pace outlet. We were lucky to survive a goal ruled out by Goldfingers for offside. As they pushed forward trying to make the most of the man advantage, we remained compact and Haseeb handling looking growingly assured. With 15 to go, Akaash made a superb pacey breakout run down the left and squared it to Subhan to slot into the bottom left.

A tough game but the team showed great fight and character once again to win it despite the early red and loss of our keeper.
