League Match #12

We started the game quickly against a Hanworth team that went unbeaten last season and had won their 4 previous league games in a row.

Pressing well up the field, the ball was won and came into Rehan and he slotted in Mitz on the right for 1-0. We controlled the ball well and shifted play with good possession but little penetration or clear cut chances created.

Stung into action Hanworth came into the game and looked to get an equaliser, attacking well from their fullbacks. The had a deflected goal disallowed for an earlier offside but were fortunate to draw level when there was a mix up between our goalkeeper and defence.

We almost scored a fantastic team goal which saw Subhan hit the crossbar, cutting in from the left. We went in 1-1 at half time.

We started the second half with a purpose to play the ball on the ground, with Ak and Jingles pushing up well to support, this lead to ibby breaking into the area where he was pushed and won us a penalty. Subhan stepped up and hit a crisp strike into the right corner.

Hanworth had to come out and play and we exploited this we a sweeping move from left to right and saw ibby cross for Mitz to get his second.

We had a silly second yellow card for Sajeel that meant we had 10 men for the last 10 mins and despite Hanworth grabbing a late consolation the defence and Shahjahan with some crunching challenges stood firm to see us victorious.
