League Match #5

A tough away fixture against an organised youthful Forestdale was never going to be easy. Due to traffic and lateness, the starting line up had to be changed.

We started the match and had an early half-chance but were shy from shooting. The match was a tight affair throughout and we had to do a lot of running on a small tight pitch.

The chances for either side came from set pieces, but our defence stood up and showed character, bravery and discipline throughout the match, led by captain Danish and Rennel. Ak and Ibby filled the wing back roles well and were a constant threat. There was also some classy hold-up play from Mitz.

With 10 mins left, we kept our belief and a big direct kick from Zar was flicked on by Sajeel and with Ibby on the overlap, rode the defenders’ challenge and with confidence slotted the ball side-footed into the bottom right corner and won us the game.
