The team were determined to come back strong after a couple of poor performances and we started the game with good intensity. We pressed the opposition high up the pitch and moved the ball around quickly. Ata and J were dominating the ball in the middle and both Zee’s were causing trouble down the wings.

We were creating chances from some nice passing but the first goals came from pressing well and then Ata audaciously chipping the goalie from 25 yards. We then went two goals up after a throw reached J and he hit a controlled volley past the keeper.

The second half was a completely different game. Torrential rain with large parts of the pitch becoming waterlogged made it very difficult to play. For the first 10 minutes, we struggled to come to terms with the conditions and were under some pressure. But we saw it off, began to play again, working hard in awful playing conditions.

We created some more chances but were unable to put them away and kill the game. We kept working hard and saw the game out with a clean sheet – with big credit to Danish T who stepped in nets and made a couple of class saves.

Decent team performance and some really good passages of play. Inshallah, we go again next week.
