An unlucky result which did not reflect the true performance of the side.

Unfortunately, all the pre-match team talk was undone as the opposition scored within a couple of minutes of the game starting. A free kick was given in the middle of the park and with a shot taken, this was saved by Ata but a static line of defense allowed the opposition in to comfortably tuck the rebound away.

What followed was a gritty affair with the middle of the park being congested and both teams not giving an inch with some tasty challenges going in from both sides. The team grew in confidence as the half wore on and the last 10/15 minutes of the half we were the better team.

Halftime brought about two changes, with Chucks and Ata coming on for Musa and Talha, with Zee Bashir moved out wide and working with Mesh providing the width on the wings.

We continued where we left off in the first half and continued to push and probe in the second half; some of the football played was of a very high level and the opposition resorted to putting all 11 men behind the ball in their own half in an attempt to stop our attacks.

With time ticking down and chances continuing to go by the wayside, it began to feel like it just wasn’t to be our day. With 5 minutes left to play and us pushing further up to get that elusive equaliser, the opposition decided to finally play some football and venture into our half, only to be foiled by a couple of world-class saves from Ata, making his debut for the club.

Unfortunately, with a couple of minutes left on the clock, a free kick was hoofed into the box and further defensive mix-ups saw the opposition faced with pretty much an open goal to score and put the game to bed.

An unfortunate result that was not deserved but plenty of positives to build on and encouraging signs from the boys to show there is plenty of potentials there and it is only a matter of before the points are on the board.
